Work with a calendar
“Working with Coach Dawn has helped me get grounded, develop self-knowledge and determine goals. My work with her has included moving homes, creating wills, finding ways to reduce my workload and asking for things I need from others. I have worked with her over two different periods of time. I keep returning because it helps me have clarity on my next steps and better follow through. I am grateful for her awareness and her training. I have recommended her to friends.”
- C.B.
"Dawn's coaching style has been effective for me because she: asks questions that generate thought-provoking answers, which then lead me to seek greater understanding of my motivations and needs; reflects back to me how central my connections with others are when I describe a situation; and highlights the priorities that emerge from the conversation. I appreciate that Dawn empowers me - through a mix of encouragement and reassurance - to pursue the goals that we identify together." - K.B.
“I have worked with Dawn for many years, and I would not be where I am today in my work and my life if it wasn’t for her consistent, deeply insightful coaching! I highly recommend her to others who are looking to grow either in their personal development or in their work situations. Dawn’s coaching equipped me as I walked through many big changes in my life: adoption, leaving the corporate world, starting my own business, and so much more. I keep my ongoing coaching sessions because her coaching helps me be organized around what matters most to me. She helps me shift my perspective to gain new insights. And through her support, I’ve learned to navigate and enjoy my life more, whether it’s an “up” or a “down” part of the journey.” - J.H.D.
“When I started working with Dawn, I had been through some of the toughest times of my life—multiple losses, both human and career—and, on top of these, the COVID-19 pandemic. As I began to emerge from a somewhat paralyzed state, I started coaching with Dawn. She helped me to direct energy toward active change, helping me see opportunities, directions, and patterns I’d developed that might work against them. With her keen observation, I was made aware of my body’s subtle responses, something I haven’t always picked up on. I’m grateful for the time in Dawn’s attentive, wise presence.” - B.N.
What to Expect: During our coaching sessions, I will bring deep listening, curiosity, and thought-provoking questions. I may offer an opportunity to pause and settle with a moment of silence and breath. We will identify strategies and tools to shift what is not working into what does work specific to you. I will encourage the use of action steps which may include having me as an accountability partner to support focus, follow through, and feeling positive.
As a certified coach by The International Coaching Federation (ICF), I use their definition: "coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential." Please go to the About & Resources tab for the ICF website link.
Attention to Goals and Competency-Based Outcomes: Many possibilities exist for areas of attention. We are always growing, changing, and being influenced by our past, present, and what we desire for the future. I suggest picking two areas of attention that matter most to you right now. Refer to the above Client-Centered Results and Testimonials section for examples of areas clients choose to focus on in coaching.
Accountability and Encouragement: Customized check-ins are offered between coaching sessions. These are brief emails or text messages that support accountability, share information, and offer encouragement.
Important Clarifying Information: My coaching practice
does not include psychotherapy or consulting services.
Upon request, I am happy to refer you to a coach offering multiple services.
Session Information:
I am often asked to describe my ideal client and niche in coaching. As a Leadership Coach, Personal Development Coach, Certified Presence-Based® Coach, ICF Mentor Coach, and ADHD Coach, I bring a blend of my history, coach training, and coaching experience into every coaching engagement. Coaching with me is an empowering, learning, and transformational engagement and different from a performance-based engagement.
I love the variety of clients who I serve which links to my use of multiple coach titles and roles. Being client-centered matters the most to me.
Individuals who choose to work with me use their growth mindset and believe it is important to invest time, attention, and money on themselves. Change, professional development, and personal development take intention, learning, and curiosity. At each coaching session we include designing fieldwork in support of specific goals and results from coaching. Fieldwork examples include actions, data collection, and experiments.
As an ICF professional coach I work with individuals in a variety of fields of work. This is different from hiring a consultant/adviser or coach/consultant who provides speciality and advice in the specific field of work.
