What is Coaching? The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential." Please go to the About & Resources tab for the ICF website link.

Ideal Clients: I am often asked to describe my ideal client. As a Certified Presence-Based® Coach, second level ICF Coach, and ADHD Coach, I work with individuals who believe it is important to invest time, attention, and money on themselves. Change, personal development, and growth take intention, attention, time, learning, curiosity, and fieldwork (actions, data collection, and experiments).

When I hear any version of the following, I become curious about a coaching partnership. I learn that I have just met my ideal client.

  • I want to better meet my business goals and have personal wellbeing.
  • Being in a leadership role is very important to me and I want to have personal wellbeing.
  • I am in a new position and am experiencing a new type of hard. How can coaching help?

  • I have heard that mindfulness practices reduce work stress. Really?
  • I work all the time and have no time for what I really want to do.
  • I like the company I work for and feel stuck in my position.
  • I get pulled in so many directions. What I really want is not getting done.
  • I have to do it all. Delegating seems to not work for me. I'm stuck.
  • I like my job. However, I don't like the morale at work.
  • I would rather stay at my job than quit. I feel stuck.

  • I want to keep front and center living my life's purpose.
  • I have my own business. There are many moving parts, weighty expectations, and never enough time in the day.
  • I feel overwhelmed all the time at work and at home.

  • I feel stuck in several areas in my life.
  • My work and my family are both important to me. The days go too fast.
  • I have a few more years to work and then I will finally retire. I find it hard to stay engaged in my work while I anticipate leaving in a few years.

  • I have ADHD. For me that means I go in too many directions which causes lack of follow through, focus, reliability, and thoroughness.
  • I struggle with Executive Function skills and want to work with a coach.

Session Length, Duration, and Payment Options: Telephone or video sessions run 45 or 60 minutes. As a starting place, we work together for 12 sessions over three to four months. Options for frequency of sessions include meet weekly, meet once a week for two or three weeks in a row, then skip a week or meet every other week. Sessions are available Sunday through Friday. Payments are due prior to the coaching session via personal check, Zelle, or PayPal. Please inquire regarding payment details and flexible payment options.

Attention to Competency-Based Outcomes and Goals: Many possibilities exist for areas of attention. We are always growing, changing, and being influenced by our past and present. I suggest picking two areas of attention that matter most to you right now. Refer to the above Results and Desired Outcomes section for examples of areas clients choose to focus on in coaching.

What to Expect: During our session, I will bring deep listening, curiosity, and thought-provoking questions. I may offer an opportunity to pause and settle with a moment of silence and breath. We will identify strategies and tools to shift what is not working into what does work specific to you. I will encourage the use of action steps which may include having me as an accountability partner to support focus, follow through, and feeling positive.

Accountability and Encouragement: Customized check-ins are offered between coaching sessions. These are brief emails or text messages that support accountability, share information, and offer encouragement.

Important Clarifying Information: My coaching practice

does not include psychotherapy or consulting services.

Upon request, I am happy to refer you to a coach offering multiple services.
